Inversion of Thin-Bedded Multi-Lithology Settings

This paper explores the requirements to successfully invert thinly bedded stacked sands with interbedded shales and coals.

The units under consideration are sub-seismic resolution but are identified clearly on the well log data.

Improved seismic acquisition and imaging and the application of Direct Probabilistic Inversion are shown to radically improve the understanding of reservoir sand distribution.
