Welcome aboard - Raul

The Qeye family would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Raúl Cova. Raul would be working with the North and South American team located in Calgary.

Raúl Cova received his B.Sc. Degree in Geophysics in 2004 from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela. He then worked for PDVSA in different positions, starting in Western PDVSA in 2004 as a Field Geophysicist and then as an R&D Geophysicist for PDVSA Intevep between 2005 and 2012.

He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Calgary in 2017 where he was a fellow of the CREWES consortium. Raúl has served as Special Editor for the SEG Editorial Committee and is the current Chair of the SEG Translations Committee. He received the SEG Wiki Champion awards in 2015 and 2017 for his contributions to the Wiki.

His research interests include machine learning applications in geoscience, converted-wave data processing, near-surface characterization and full waveform inversion.
